The quote above is a piece of lyric from the song EmmyLou by First Aid Kit. Lately I can’t seem to stop listening to the oh-so-lovely swedish sisters. I first fell in love with the duo some time ago when I stumbled upon their cover of the Fleet Foxes Tiger Mountain Peasant Song, and my curiosity was instantly sparked and has stayed very much alive. As I listened and learned more about these sisters, Johanna and Klara, I became increasingly enthralled by their powerful lyrics and soulful voices. I am entirely captivated by music that sparks deep thought and evokes emotion, and the sweet sounds these wonderful women create do just that.
I recently had the honor of seeing them perform live at Coachella, and they did not disappoint one bit. In fact they were indeed one of my favorite performances of the weekend. And not to mention, the wonderful-amazing-glorious company I work for, Free People has brought attention to First Aid Kit on their blog BLDG 25 which is my one of my main sources of inspiration.
